Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

Through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), prospective immigrants with skills and experience targeted by Nova Scotia may be nominated to immigrate. Review the different NSNP streams to determine if you qualify.

Candidate Streams:

  1. Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities: This stream selects candidates in the federal Express Entry system who meet provincial labor market needs. Only candidates who receive a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration may apply.

  2. Labour Market Priorities for Physicians: Specifically for physicians, this stream selects candidates to apply for nomination through the federal Express Entry system. Candidates must have an approved offer from the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre and receive a Letter of Interest from Labour, Skills, and Immigration (LSI) to apply.

  3. Physician Stream: Designed to assist Nova Scotia’s public health authorities in hiring general practitioners, family physicians, and specialist physicians to work in the province. The stream helps recruit and retain physicians with required skills for positions that couldn't be filled with a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

  4. Entrepreneur Stream: For experienced business owners or senior business managers interested in living in Nova Scotia. Applicants must start a new business or buy an existing one and actively participate in its day-to-day management. Invitation-only application process.

  5. International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: Recent graduates of a Nova Scotia university or the Nova Scotia Community College who have started or bought a Nova Scotia business and operated it for at least a year. Invitation-only application process.

  6. International Graduates In Demand Stream: For recent international graduates whose skills match specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) job categories currently in demand in Nova Scotia.

  7. Skilled Worker Stream: Helps employers recruit foreign workers and recently graduated international students whose skills are needed in Nova Scotia.

  8. Occupations in Demand Stream: Targets specific TEER category 3, 4, or 5 occupations of the National Occupational Classification that are in high labor market demand in Nova Scotia.

  9. Critical Construction Worker Pilot: Specifically for individuals with a permanent, full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in the construction sector.

  10. Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream: Selects highly skilled individuals with at least one year of experience working in Nova Scotia in an occupation at TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification.
